Nuutajärvi Glass Village

Nuutajärvi Glass Factory continues the 200-year-old traditions in a unique factory setting. The birds of Oiva Toikka, glasswork that requires artisanship and unique artefacts of artists are made here. Nuutajärvi Glass belongs to the same family of glass factories with Iittala and Humppila. Also other artisans work in the village of the glass artists. Glass works school Tawastia in Nuutajärvi trains the future glass masters in this field. Nuutajärvi offers many things to see and experience. Architect Chiewitz designed the central buildings in the 1850s.

The oldest factory of Nuutajärvi Glass was founded in 1793, and it is the oldest glass factory in Finland that is still in function. Nowadays the factory produces famous Finnish art glass. For instance, the birds of Oiva Toikka are made in Nuutajärvi.

Nuutajärvi Glass Factory is situated 65km from Tampere, 105km from Turku, and 160km from Helsinki. The nearest railway stations are in Humppila (18km) and Toijala (38km).
